United States of the offended?

During this holiday season in which the Birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus is celebrated many state and local governments across our land are declining to host Nativity scenes on government grounds for fear of offending someone. What part of salvation, peace on earth and goodwill to men do these people find offensive?
