Thought for Today

What is meekness?

Being meek is not a sign of weakness, the word meek means "yielded." The literal translation is strength under control. When an animal, especially a horse is domesticated, it is trained so that a rider can sit ride on it and the animal follows commands. The proper term for this process is that the animal has been "meeked." It is broken and will yield and now can be riden or yoked and is of use to it's master.

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.
