Peace of mind

Today we live in increasingly stressful, frenzied and even frightening times and finding personal peace can seem hopeless. But scripture tells us to "seek peace and persue it" (1 Peter 3:11). True peace of mind can be found by reading the Bible which is the greatest book on peace ever written (Colossians 3:15-16), prayer to God (Hebrews 13:20) and taking responsibility for our thought and actions (Philippians 4:8). "Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down with no walls" (Proverbs 25:28). Fear and worry can rob Christians of their joy but many Bible verses exhorting us to "fear not" can be found in God's word. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isiah 26:3).

Peace and harmony come to those who extend it to others. Paul wrote, "if it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:8)
