The Master's Hand
Myra Brooks Welch's poem "The Touch of the Master's Hand," tells how an auctioneer held up a battered violin and called for a bid. Just when he was ready to sell it for $3.00, a master violinist stepped forward and played the most beautiful song imaginable. The violin sold for $3,000.00. The touch of the master's hand had changed the instrument's worth.
The poem contains an analogy of how many persons are auctioned of cheaply, but when the Master steps in, their lives are changed forever.
Father, when I question what I do is worth anything, help me to remember how precious I am to you and to others and how special each and every person is in your sight.
