After the news of the Titanic's tradegy reached the world, the challenge was how to inform the relatives of those traveling on the ship whether their loved ones were among the survivors or not. At the White Star Shipping office in Liverpool, England a large board was set up; one side was titled "known to be saved" the other "known to be lost." Hundreds of people gathered to watch the updates to each list. When a messenger brought new information those waiting would grow very still and quiet, wondering what names would be added and to which side.
Although the travelers on the Titanic were either first, second or third-class passengers, after the ship went down there were only two catagories, saved and drowned. Just as we can divide people into many different classes based on race, geography, education and wealth. But on the Day of Judgement there will only be two classes; the saved and the lost with eternity hanging in the balance.
